Research Initiatives

NursingAP.com is funded by a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The initial goal of this project is to increase the number of certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioners who can provide primary, acute, critical and chronic health care to neonates and infants from birth to age 2. Additional objectives are to increase the number of NNPs from backgrounds that are under-represented in nursing and to improve the number of NNPs working in settings where populations are medically underserved.

To address the shortage of certified NNPs, we have developed this website to extend the reach of qualified NNP faculty through a non-linear, asynchronous learning environment. Here you will find interactive courseware that allows you to browse through an entire lecture series, search for and find specific content or practice acquired knowledge in a virtual clinic setting. NursingAP.com serves as both a supplement to traditional classroom instruction as well as a resource for the ongoing education of working professionals.
